The Cookies brand of cannabis, founded by a rapper called Berner started off the hype. The name Cookies comes from a first prolific, new-school strain called Girl Scout Cookies which represents all the new, exotic wave of a modern type of cannabis coming from California.   Now the Cookies brand is responsible for promoting of such new strains like Gelato, Sunset Sherbert or Wedding Cake. The eye-catching branding with colorful Mylar bags is not the only special thing about the Cali weed. The buds are really outstanding in their qualities. The look, the smell, flavors and effects are really noticeably more interesting than the standard regular weed that we used to be familiar with.

This type of cannabis weed was after many years of experiments and mixing genetics in the grow rooms and fields of the US West Coast. The history of Cannabis in this part of the world is quite long, already since the 1960’s there were plenty of growers who were cultivating first hybrids or landrace strains brought by the drug smugglers from different corners of the world like- Afghanistan, India, Columbia. Those growers experimented with crossing all the special genetics which they had, which resulted in years of perfecting certain cannabis strains to suit the needs of a smoker. Those people held to their specially selected clones, seeds and mother plants by which it was possible to maintain the quality over the years. Also, the best genetics were usually not shared away or they were kept secret, so plenty of the most exquisite cannabis on earth was in the hands of the couple of the original creators and small groups of people could enjoy them (like Hollywood stars, rappers, rich elites). Nowadays, due to the legalization of cannabis in many of the US states, a big chunk of the best genetics surfaced out of the underground. Companies like Cookies or another big player like Jungle Boys, Connected Cannabis co or $herbmoney became so popular, that the original packages of various Cali strains are being exported to many countries outside of the US. Nowadays you can buy an original Gelato#41 or the Zkittlez from your local coffeeshop or a plug. Of course, the price for an original Cali pack is way higher then for a regular weed, but often times the experience with it is way more efficient and interesting then just with your standard Big Bud or White Widow.

For some people it may be considered a hype, but the reality is that the Cali weed really do represent the best genetics available worldwide, because now they have reemerged and being commercially grown and not kept in secret anymore. The exotic aspect and a big variety of the Cali bud makes it enormously attractive and desired all over the planet.
